Can I publish a website for free?
Yes, with trade-offs. Free publishing options usually give you:
- A subdomain like yourname.someplatform.com instead of yourname.com.
- Limits on storage, traffic or features, and sometimes the platform's branding.
- No business email and limited support.
AI tools add their own free and paid options. ChatGPT Sites, for example, publishes on a chatgpt.site address but needs a paid ChatGPT plan, and Sites does not register domains for you (OpenAI help center, checked November 5, 2026). Claude and Gemini give you code you still need to host (can ChatGPT build a website?).
How do I publish my website? (the cheap real way)
This is how we publish every AI-made site, and it takes about 10 minutes:
- Get one HTML file. Ask the AI for a single index.html (or export it from Claude or Gemini).
- Buy hosting with a free domain (we use Hostinger Premium), or use a domain you own.
- Create a subdomain (or use the main domain) in the hosting panel.
- Upload index.html with the file manager.
- Open it on your phone and fix anything that breaks.

Is it free to publish a website on Google?
Yes. Google does not charge to show your site in search. Once your site is live on any host:
- Add it to Google Search Console (free) and verify you own it.
- Submit your sitemap.
- Use URL Inspection → Request indexing for your main pages.

Is it free to own a website?
Not fully. The domain name is the part you always pay for each year (the first year is often free with hosting). Hosting can be free on a subdomain, but a business site on its own domain usually costs a few dollars a month.
