So what changed? Since October ninth, free Gemini accounts only get Flash Lite, Google's most cost effective model. Flash and Pro are gone from the free plan. Then on October thirteenth, Google launched Gemini 4 Argon in the Gemini app, but only for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google says it's better at long, complex tasks and coding, and Gemini can now connect to more than forty apps, like Shopify and Adobe.

Here are the plans in the US. Free gets Flash Lite. AI Plus is about five dollars, and it's losing Pro. AI Pro is about twenty dollars, with Pro, Deep Think, and Argon. And Ultra starts at about one hundred dollars a month. Is this bad news? For casual users, Flash Lite is still fine for quick questions and simple drafts.

But for long code, full websites, and complex work, the free plan just got weaker. And one more thing: some free Pro trials, like Pixel or student offers, don't get every feature. Quick question. Will you pay for Gemini Pro, one, or stay on the free plan, two? Comment one or two. So here's the smart way to decide.

Three simple rules. Rule one: don't pay before AI pays you. Start free. Use free tools for outlines, emails, and first drafts. Find one client or one product first, then upgrade. Rule two: when a client pays, twenty dollars is a business cost. If one website project pays three hundred to five hundred dollars, a twenty dollar tool that saves you hours is easy math.

Pay for the month you use it, and cancel when you don't. Rule three: own what you build. Whatever AI you use, the website or tool should live on your own domain and hosting, not inside a chat app. Models change every month. Your website stays. One warning.
